I just love when people breakout and dance in the middle of the street. Don’t you?

When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way…even in the middle of Times Square!

50 professional dancers spontaneously burst into WEST SIDE STORY choreography in Times Square on Friday, November 11, 2011 to mark the 50th anniversary of the film and upcoming release on Blu-ray for the first time on November 15th.

The flash mob was organized by YouTube partnership network DanceOn (www.YouTube.com/DanceOn) with help from choreographer Joshua Bergasse (Smash, NBC) who re-created the film’s iconic choreography (originated by Jerome Robbins) with this dance tribute. Some of the dancers taking part in the flash mob have performed in productions of “West Side Story” and/or currently performing in the Broadway productions of “Follies,” “Chicago,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Rock of Ages” and “Wicked.”
