Silver Dolphin Books Play-Doh First Concepts #Giveaway

Learning basic concepts and words just got easier and a whole lot more fun! Silver Dolphin Books, a long-respected publisher of high-quality novelty and activity-based books for children, and Hasbro have just recently joined forces to develop a line of educational and entertaining books designed specifically for little ones. This spring, Silver Dolphin debuts a brand new line of books that feature the PLAY-DOH brand and the fitting tagline of “Where Learning and Creativity Take Shape.”

Whether it’s the First Concept series that teach children important early concepts like counting, shapes, and colors, a fun lift-the-flap book featuring Mama Duck searching for her wayward duckling, a padded board book where toddlers learn more than 50 commonly used words, or a jumbo sticker book that will keep little ones busy for hours — every book features the vivid colors and funky texture that can only be PLAY-DOH compound. Durable, affordable and just the right length to read aloud to active three year olds, the entire line of PLAY-DOH books are perfect for fostering a child’s love of learning AND reading.

Confession: Even though I consider myself to be a modern mommy, I have a fond love for classic toys. This includes a consistent supply of Play-Doh on our craft shelves. Can you imagine the excitement we all shared when we discovered that Silver Dolphin Books created a line of Play-Doh themed books? Really these just gave us the umph to create new styles and characters with our beloved clay.

The three board books were perfect for Mr. E as he is just at that stage in his life where is little brain soaks in as much as humanly possible. At least for a three year old anyway. My First Words were by far my favorite of the three. Simply because not only is it a great combination of visual wording but with the right Play-Doh stock, you can create the item to reinforce the word. Making learning fun is one of the key ways to success I have found in my twenty years as a mom.

My First Words Mamas Little Duckling Counting Bunnies

My First Words is a cushion cover style board book, were as Mama’s Little Ducklings and Counting Bunnies are both solid cover and page. They are think board, excellent quality and great for little hands even when slightly destructive. Yes, I am a mom of rough boys.

Now while I have confessed my love of one, I will say the the Play-Doh characters are more prominently displayed in the other two board units. So if you are looking for books that will provide creative clay ideas, I would definitely consider adding these to your collection. Even at ages 7 and 8, my daughters enjoy all three when in art design mode. I have seen more clay creativity since adds this collection to our clay tub than I have in some time. That fact gains Silver Dolphin Books a big thumbs up from Mom to bed by 8.

Play-Doh Books

My middle daughter claimed the Let’s Get Creative Big Sticker Book. For some reason all kids seem to just have a soft spot for stickers. I personally have a like/dislike relationship. Stickers are cute and an easy way to play but if the kiddos put them somewhere they do not below {aka the hardwood floor} and then mommy does find them until days later, I find myself on my hands and knees with a straight edge peeling them off. Never the less if you have responsible little ones, this is a great book filled with over 300 Play-Doh characters for them to place on the book pages letting their imagination run wild.
