Merle & Velma Personalized Birth Story Keepsake Blanket Review & Giveaway

Merle & Velma are creators of uniquely, personalized blankets, pillows and tees. For someone like myself who has a flare for all things that can be named, this was right up my alley. Of course some may think I spoiled my boys but I like to think of it as more of treating myself. So yes, please put my son’s name on everything possible.

I went with the “The Cohen” Personalized Birth Story Keepsake Blanket for Elliot. Even though he is 3, I am still fond of providing him with things that are meaningful and since he is moving from being a co-sleeping champ to his own big boy room, I am trying to make this change with as much care as possible. This includes fun pieces to make him feel happy when he walks into his own space.

The Cohen

The Merle & Velma Keepsake Blanket was more than likely geared for infants, sweet little coming home presents and baby shower stunners. However The Cohen is 30″ x 34″ which is larger than most baby blankets and the softest one we own and that is saying a lot since I was obsessed with minky when my guy was an infant.

Low has since decided that this blankie is not getting out of his site. He has the rub on his cheek thing going on. It is very, very cute to see. Low takes his Merle & Velma creation to bed and even in the car on occasion. I don’t let him often because I want it to still be intact 20 years down the road. Call me sentimental and all but I want still have the blanket around when he is off to college.

Personalized Birth Story Keepsake Blanket

Being the size that it is, I find it perfectly sized for rest time downstairs with mommy mid-afternoon and is thin enough that storage is a snap. Now in saying that, do realize this is more of a keepsake than functional. While it does work just fine as an everyday blanket for those who are like myself and buy personalized items just because, it is not exactly what you would call winter worthy. That just means that use with care and not when it is cold and you want to keep babe warm. Spring, Summer and warmer fall days, this blanket could even be classified as a fashionable baby accessory.

In the end this is one of those pieces you want to be able to add to the keep tube when they outgrow. The perfect memory piece to pull out when the grandbaby appears and you can pass on. I can even see this piece being framed for the wall. It is that adorable and has a modern look that is definitely style worthy.

Overall as I mentioned before Merle & Velma makes an amazingly soft blanket. The colors and design options are all modernized and each make a grand statement. If you adore the blanket as much as I do, then make sure to also checkout the matching pillows and snap tees. What an adorable photo prop these would make as well <- for my pic taking friends.

Even better Merle & Velma blankets are made with 100% organic cotton fabric and printed with non-toxic water based dyes. They are also made in the USA. So yeap, they have all the plus points I need to stay a loyal consumer and the quality to back it up.
