Many know Florida as the land of the biggest attraction parks in the world. While this is certainly true, if you’re looking for a break from all of those rides, Florida has much to offer thanks to its incredible weather.

Golf

Aside from the theme parks, golf is undoubtedly one of the Sunshine State’s most famous attractions. There are numerous golf courses which also house golf areas to delight kids. You can spend the entire day exploring many of the picturesque courses – and driving around in a golf buggy is always great fun!

Water sports

With its enviable climate, Florida is ideal for water sports. Depending your children’s age, jumping aboard a boat for the afternoon or riding a banana boat are just a few of the must-try activities on offer.

Shopping

As with a large proportion of America, shopping is another popular pastime and one that is enjoyed by both the locals and visitors to the area. From quaint boutiques to oversized malls, Miami is a destination that has something to suit all shoppers.

Food

Dining is big in America and it’s something that is loved by both adults and children, especially when you see the eateries on offer. There are a number of dining establishments to choose from and the easiest way to find the ones you like is to quite simply try them out!

Learning

For a more educational trip, take a trip to the Museum of Discovery and Science – the perfect place in which to learn a little more.

Free attractions

If you’re on a budget, be sure to check out the many free activities on offer such as a stroll along Hollywood’s renowned 2.5 mile Broadwalk or a trip to Deerfield Beach where you can enjoy the sunset go down over the pier.

Snorkeling is another popular activity and many will choose to spend a day circling the three-tiered reef system.

Check your calendar

If you intend to plan your holiday to Florida in advance, it may be wise to jot down an itinerary. With so much to see and do, getting around can become a little overwhelming without a plan.

It’s also wise to check out the latest offerings from the area’s event calendar – you never know, there may a few festivals on whilst you’re away.

Certain venues have more going on than others and when planning excursions it’s important to remember that the weekend will be busier and more expensive than the weekday.

America is very much a happening place and regardless of what time of year you choose to visit, you’ll always find something fun for the entire family. So, what are you waiting for?
