CASHFLOW, where board game lovers get real!

Thank you to RichDad for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to be financially savvy with CASHFLOW!

As parents we don’t get to go out too often, so once a week we invite a few friends over for game night. We have some snacks and wine. We play games and enjoy each other’s company. It’s always fun to play something new and we take turns introducing the group to games that we have never played before. When I had the opportunity to try the CASHFLOW game I knew it would be perfect for our next game night. A few years ago, I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and I have been a fan of his since. He created this game to teach investing, financial strategies and principles of accounting in a fun and understandable way. CASHFLOW has been described as Monopoly on steroids and since I enjoy Monopoly, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this wonder. And, neither could my daughter.

Cashflow review

When our friends arrived, I had the wine and appetizers ready and CASHFLOW set up on the table. We took a few minutes to read the rules and get familiar with the object of the game and then got right into playing. I noticed right away how beautiful the game board is. The colors are bold and bright. The object of the game is to get out of the Rat Race by buying property, businesses, stocks and precious metals and get onto the Fast Track where you can become very wealthy. The special thing about CASHFLOW is that it isn’t just a game, it’s also a tool. It actually teaches you how to do the same things in real life. You get to learn different strategies for building wealth in the game and learn how to apply them in your own life. What other board game does that?

We all had a great time playing CASHFLOW. We took risks that we wouldn’t normally take in real life and saw the consequences; good and bad. I can honestly say we all learned a few things while playing CASHFLOW. The game is very numbers oriented and you will find yourself doing a lot of math while playing. I think everyone is looking forward to playing again next week. We are competing to see if we can each get out of the Rat Race and onto the Fast Track a little quicker next time. After the game we talked about buying stocks and investing in our real lives. None of us had ever done that before but we realized that using CASHFLOW as a learning tool made it a very real possibility.

The game is not as complicated as real life, of course, but it definitely teaches the basics in a way that is easy to understand and fun to practice. We found that the game can go on for up to 4 hours and maybe even more. So make sure you have ample time to play or put a time limit on the game when you play. It’s recommended that you play CASHFLOW at least a dozen times before taking what you learned into the real world of investing. We definitely have a way to go before we reach that point, so we decided that we will play CASHFLOW each week from now on. I was a little worried that the math would seem more like work than a game, but I guess when you see the numbers as money, it makes math less of a task.

I would definitely suggest CASHFLOW to friends and anyone that enjoys Monopoly and board games in general. It’s also perfect for anyone who is interested in investing in stock or real estate but have no idea where or how to start. Robert Kiyosaki was able to create a fun and interesting game that is not only educational but is made to show you how to translate what you learn into real life, using your newly acquired knowledge to make money. I don’t think any other game on the market even comes close to offering what Cashflow does. Buy it for yourself or as a gift and make the holidays bright with a #CASHFLOW game night!
