Candy Treasure Chest Recipe + Dessert Designer Prize Package Giveaway

My first thought about Dessert Designer: Creations You Can Make and Eat! was awe look how cut and fun the activities {and recipes} are. Then once I really got into the book, I realized how simple most were to recreate. Of course I have never been one to make picture perfect ideas come to life but that is not from a lack of trying. Take the Treasure Chest my daughter {age 8} decided was the one we just had to make. It looks pretty good for my first go at it and well the ingredients are O-SO yummy!

Ingredients

  • chocolate and yellow candy melting wafers
  • 6 bars of crisp wafers in chocolate
  • banana shaped candies
  • gold wrapped chocolate candies
  • candy necklaces
  • candy-coated chocolates

KitKat Treasure Chest

There were so many cool ideas within the pages of Dessert Designer. Lollipop Disco Ball {yeah – talk about a blast from the past with a sweet after taste}, Earth Bead Bracelets {make sure to keep an eye out as this one comes to life at Mom to Bed by 8 for Earth Day} and my personal favorite the Fooled You PB&J {great treat for April Fools day}.

Even better is the variety you will find with this collection of unique ideas. Most creations would work well for both adult and child parties themes. Hosting an OZ party? Go for the Clear Sky Rainbows Cookies. Dads gather your children in the kitchen and make mom a Aloha Lie Cupcake for mother’s day. Attending or planning a wedding? Use the Tipsy Flower Tower as the centerpiece for your bridal shower luncheon.
