Breaking up with GFC

Today is a semi-sad day as I am removing my GFC box from my sidebar. Be riding myself of google friend connect comes with mixed emotions. Sad to see it stripped from self-hosted bloggers and hope that those who work with us will not look down upon us for not having a growing number to give them any longer. Happy though because I have always said that GFC is a poor way to judge a blog. In many cases I have seen GFC numbers as high as in the 5000+ range but their reader box read as little as 300. In my opinion they may follow but doesn’t mean they read. For that reason, I hope that many of my fellow writers/bloggers will embrace the change and begin to go their email subscriptions and rss feeds (till they take that away too).
