Making green look easy with the Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler Review and Giveaway

Being a green family means recycling is a must. Until recently we kept a cardboard box or two in our kitchen floor to toss recyclables into. Then once a week I would make a trip to the recycle center and separate all their pieces there. Sounds like a lot of trouble hua? Well it was sometimes; especially when the kids are home all week or we have a special event that would yield more garbage than usual. Then we made the change to the Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler and for the most part you would never know we even still kept the recyclables in our kitchen.

The Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler at first glance looks like a well crafted garbage can. Though when you get up close and personal you realize it is actually a two sectioned Rubbermaid container. This unit is built for convenience and ease of use ~ from the lift up lid of the top container to the pull out storage of the bottom piece.

I actually prefer to keep my plastics on the bottom. Reason being is that we seem to have a lot more milk jugs that the typical family being there is 4 young children in our home. The top section is used for smaller broken down cardboard and paper. I do still have to break down my larger boxes and set them aside but I found that keeping them in the basement is the best way to go. After all I am always looking for a box to pack something in or for the kids to keep busy in. How they do love imaginative playtime.

Both sections of the Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler have an easy lift green handle. I simply remove both parts, carry them by the handle to my vehicle and off we go to the city recycle center. Most importantly is the convenience of having this unit. Now when I get to the center, everything is already separated. I spend less time there and more time with my family. Which is a win, win for me.

I never really noticed till now how much better and less cluttered my kitchen looks. Having the recycling tucked away in the 2-in-1 Recycler is something I wished I would have done a long time ago.
