Maleficent Teaser Trailer & Images!

From Disney comes “Maleficent”—the untold story of Disney’s most iconicvillain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

“Maleficent” is produced by Joe Roth and directed by Robert Stromberg, with Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith, Palak Patel and Sarah Bradshaw serving as executive producers. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay. “Maleficent” opens in theaters on May 30, 2014.

I’m not usually a fantasy film fan, although I did love Pan’s Labyrinth. However, this looks awesome – can’t wait until next May!

  2. Renee Ashley Hanna says

This looks like it will be an awesome movie!!! I cannot wait to see it. I didn’t even know this movie was coming out until I watch the trailer on your blog. Thanks for sharing such an awesome movie!!

  3. Terri says

I saw something on tv about this yesterday. It indicated that Jolie used one of her children in the movie since many of the other kids that were cast were too scared. Kind of interesting.

You kinda sorta mostly had me….until you mentioned Angelina Jolie’s role. Then you really got me. I’m sure it’s going to be great and my son and I will enjoy it.

  5. Lisa N. says

Disney’s Sleeping Beauty is such a classic movie. I’m intrigued to see the story from Maleficent’s point of view.

  6. David Smith says

This movie looks really interesting. I have seen most of the other movies that have come out that are based (sometimes loosely) on fairy tales or old movie characters. Almost all of them have been good and this one looks like it will be a must see also. Thanks for the info.
