Ice Cream, Ice Cream ~ We all love ice cream! #RockYourBlog

Ice cream is one of those delicious goodies, that I love to hate. I know it makes me unamerican! I have never been the biggest fan of anything other than peanut butter or classic vanilla. Even then you will never see me farce up a good pie with a spoon of cold cream. Never the less, I have 7 lovely children who all adore ice cream and who am I to deny them?

Here is a super simple vanilla ice cream recipe that always works for me. Make sure you give it a try, for your next dessert moment.

Easy Vanilla Ice Cream

Vanilla Ice CreamIngredients:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 3/4 cup white sugar

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream and the half and half. Gradually whisk in the sugar until blended.
  2. Whisk in the vanilla. Refrigerate, covered, until very cold, at least 3 hours or as long as 3 days.
  3. Whisk the mixture to blend and pour into the canister of an ice cream maker. Freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions. Eat at once or transfer to a covered container and freeze up to 8 hours.

I love ice cream, but I’m pregnant and in the last month have developed an issue with dairy, so I’ve had to give it up. Worst timing ever. I think I might have to suck it up a few times. It’s summer and I can’t fully give it up.

We are planning to try Pineapple Ice Cream this week during a cookout. Hope it’s as good as this sounds.

This looks so yummy and so simple. Dr. Oz featured frozen greek yogurt as a good ice cream swap, I can’t wait to see how it compares.

  4. Dawn says

I have never tried to make my own ice cream {unless you count snow cream}. I have always wanted to, though. Thanks for the easy {at least it sounds easy, lol} recipe. :)

Love home made ice cream. It’s great to have a good vanilla recipe then to play with it. There are so many flavors out there to try. Always nice to go back to vanilla…plus, the kids enjoy making their own sundaes with different toppings.

I wish I could find a good dairy-free ice cream recipe. I tried one and it turned out really gross. My son has a severe milk allergy.

We love ice cream in my house, but we have never made our own. I’m thinking we probably should because we spend entirely too much money on it. I will confess that last week my husband and I bought 5 tubs of ice cream. I think we have a problem. We may as well make our habit cheaper!

  20. Katrina Angele says

I never realized I could make ice cream with only 3 ingredients! Neato. Now I am craving some. This would be so easy to add too also. I’d mix in some oreos. Yummers.

I am so ready to make that vanilla ice cream recipe. I adore ice cream and I remember my grandmother making fresh peach ice cream when I was a child. I miss those days, but am going to get all the neighbors outside for some homemade ice cream before it gets too cold outside. I eat ice cream in the winter, but I don’t think most people do. Thanks for the recipe!
