How to Cook Bacon in the Oven

This week I learned you can cook bacon in the oven. Yes, I’ve been living under a rock all these years. I have no idea how I didn’t know this. I tried it out and wow, I’m never cooking bacon in a pan ever again. It was fast, easy and clean-up was an absolute breeze!

#1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil – make sure you are using a baking sheet that has sides so the grease doesn’t run off.

#2. Lay the bacon slices side by side on the baking sheet. If you have to place 1-2 pieces on top to make room, that is OK.

#3. Place the baking sheet in the cold oven. Yes, cold – do not preheat.

#4. Turn the oven on to 400 degrees and set your kitchen timer for 10 minutes. At 10 minutes, check the bacon and re-set the time for another 10-15 minutes.

#5. Remove from the oven after 20-25 minutes/the bacon looks cooked and transfer to a paper towel lined plate. *My oven took about 25 minutes total from start to finish but keep an eye on yours so it doesn’t burn the first time around.

That’s it – easy!
