Going back to school can be a stressful time. It doesn’t matter if you are entering Kindergarten or heading to your senior year, there are first day jitters. As a mom, I try to find creative ways to make this day and the ones that follow to be the very best. After all, it usually sets the pace for the rest of the year. Somewhere along the way, I found that by giving back to school classmate gifts and even including a small note for your child can work wonders to ease them into an amazing first day. It only take a little bit of time and creativity and will be a moment they will cherish for the days to come.

The first step in creating a classmate gift with style is deciding on what to give. For Elliot’s first day, we are sending him back to school with Danimals® smoothies and pouches. The hardest part is choosing from the many flavor combinations available. So, letting him decide was the perfect idea. Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies Strawberry Explosion/Banana Split Drink Smoothies and Dannon® Danimals® Squeezables Cotton Candy Lowfat Yogurt Pouches are two of his favorites. These of course went into the cart along side of his school supplies.

Danimals® smoothies and pouches are a great choice for a nutritious snack, portable and the kids love them. With a bonus of no artificial flavors and a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D That is an easy mom win that I will gladly accept. Right now when you buy 3 participating Danimals® products, you will receive a $10 gift card for school supplies on walmart.com!

With the shopping out of the way, off to the craft shelf we go to figure of what to do next. The idea is to keep it simple yet adorable. Creating a printable that will bring a smile to the receiver’s face was something we have had success with in the past. We created not only one for his classmates but also a sweet note just for his first day as well.

To recreate this gift at home, you will need a printer, cardstock to print the labels on, scissors, hole punch, ribbon and Danimals® smoothies or pouches of your choice. Don’t forget to include your child in the creation process. Elliot really takes a lot of pride in making things and enjoys bringing joy to those he gives them too.

You can download the I am Danimals® to you like glue printable here. We went ahead and created a printable that includes nine easy to cut out tags to help you create the perfect back to school classmate gift. Once you have the number of labels you need printed off on cardstock, you can being cutting them out.

Since I usually do the printing and cutting of the labels, Elliot is ready by my side to cut sections of ribbon to be used later while he waits. Then as soon as a sheet of labels is ready, he adds a small circle to the top with the punch hole. This is where he will place the ribbon through and attach it to the  Smoothies. You should wrap the ribbon fully around the grooved section of the smoothie bottle and then again with the ribbon attached (see photo above).

Once the ribbon is attached, you are ready to place the finished gift back in the fridge until you are ready to hand them out on their first day of class.

With the classmate gifts complete, it is now time to make a little something special. Just a little card to remind Elliot that he is loved and deserves the best first day ever. The Have a Danimals® Day printable can be used anytime for any occasion. For that reason and the fact that I have four wonderful children that will be going back to school this August, I created a printable of four that you can download here and print at home.

Have a Danimals® Day is unique as it makes for a great note card that can be included in their lunch box or as a printable that you can attach to their favorite Danimals® smoothie or pouch.
